Evergreen Virtual Academy (EVA) is seeking highly qualified and motivated professionals to work in an innovative environment. We seek to establish a pool of substitute teachers that would be ready to cover both short and long-term leaves for regular staff. We will provide training and necessary equipment so that substitutes could be ready upon short notice.
Summary: In the absence of the regular classroom teacher or support staff team member, will provide instruction and/or support to students. Duties may include the following, depending on assignment:
- Assumes the responsibilities for instructing classes when a teacher is absent utilizing lesson plans left by the classroom teacher.
- Assumes the responsibilities for the role subbing for
- Creates a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of the students.
- Maintains, as fully as possible, the established routines and procedures of the school and classroom to which assigned
- Prepares students for state standardized tests, if applicable.
- Develops positive relationships with parents/Learning Coaches, students, and staff members.
- Supports students and parents/Learning Coaches with school set-up and logistics questions including basic computer set-up, navigation, and troubleshooting.
- Responds in a timely manner, no longer than 24 business hours, to student, parent/Learning Coach, and staff inquiries via phone and/or e-mail during the regular work week.
- Participates in social and educational activities for students and families.
- Other duties as assigned.
